At Canine Command Dog Training, our journey with Agatha the golden doodle began with the goal of preparing her for a long flight alongside her owner. Recognizing the importance of building a strong foundation, we focused on instilling good general obedience skills in Agatha. Through consistent training sessions, we worked on commands such as sit, crate, and come, ensuring that Agatha had a solid understanding of these essential commands. However, we understood that Agatha and her owner both struggled with flight anxieties, so we tailored her training to include specified work. With the help of desensitization techniques and positive reinforcement, we gradually introduced Agatha to the sights, sounds, and sensations associated with air travel. By addressing their anxieties together, we aimed to create a sense of confidence and security for Agatha and her owner, making their upcoming journey a much more enjoyable experience.
